After nearly two years of relentless bombardment, over 97% of Gaza’s water is now contaminated and unsafe to drink. Families are surviving on an average of just 3-5 litres per person per day, a fraction of the UN’s minimum of 15 litres required for basic needs.

Our UN partners on the ground are delivering safe, clean water to families in Gaza using water tankers ensuring each person receives at least 3 litres of drinking water a day. They have two large water wells that are currently operational in Gaza and a further 55 smaller wells in their shelters. People also receive clean water through trucks at various distribution points.

Right now, only a fraction of Gaza’s water facilities are functioning, and fuel shortages are pushing the entire water system toward collapse. An alarming 93% of households are experiencing water insecurity, putting countless lives at risk and increasing the spread of disease.
