Help Renovate the Umayyad Masjid in Damascus
And whoever honours the symbols of Allah – for indeed, it is from the piety of the hearts.”
[The Noble Qur’an, 22:32]
The Umayyad Masjid is arguably the fourth holiest site in Islam after the Ka‘bah, Al-Masjid An-Nabawi and Al-Masjid Al-Aqsa. It is located in the heart of the Syrian capital, Damascus, a city the Prophet (saw) described as, “one of the best cities of Shaam (Greater Syria).”
[Abu Dawud]
Why is this Masjid special?
- Built in 715 CE by Caliph Al-Walid I
- One of the oldest & largest mosques in the world (capacity: 5,000 worshippers)
- Built on the site of a Christian Basilica of John the Baptist (Prophet Yahya, AS)
- Houses what is believed to be the head of Prophet Yahya (AS)
- Home to the White Minaret, where Prophet Isa (AS) is prophesied to descend before the Day of Judgment.
We are raising £500 per share to support the renovation of the Umayyad Masjid, one of the most historic and sacred mosques in the world. Funds will go towards:
- a modern underfloor heating system to the main prayer hall
- a brand-new state-of-the-art digital sound system for the entire Masjid
- providing new copies of the Noble Qur’an to its blessed worshippers.
Don’t miss out on this incredibly rare Sadaqah Jariyah opportunity. Donate your shares today in the name of yourselves, loved ones and deceased relatives (may Allah have mercy upon them), thank you!
You can also donate any amount you can to the Renovation Fund.
